About the Founder of ABC For TEENS
Desheka Williams
Born in Alaska to two Army veterans and raised in Fayetteville, NC, Desheka is the wife of a retired Army Veteran and the mother to two beautiful (adult) children- Heavenly and LaDamian.
After dedicating 20 years to the nursing profession, she retired as a nurse with a deep experience in healthcare.Her education background includes a Nursing Degree, Healthcare Management degree, certifications in Biblical counseling and Biblical Studies, and a certified Life Coach.
She is passionate about serving others and has taken on multiple roles in mentorships, leadership, and community engagement throughout her life. As a youth and adult mentor, former Girl Scout Troop Leader, and former PTO President, she has always been deeply committed to guiding and empowering those around her. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to start Diakrití Designs, where she specializes in National Travel Event Planning and Interior Design. Desheka believes that every event is worth celebrating, and is dedicated to creating memorable experiences for her clients while transforming spaces with creativity and care.
In addition t her work in design, Desheka is the Founder of T.I.C ( Tillers In Christ), a 501c(3) Non-profit organization that serves the community through 5 departments: Public Service, Community Service, Healthcare, Education, and Financial Empowerment. Through T.I.C, she works to uplift and support those in need, providing resources for growth and change. Desheka also created the ABC For Teens program, a social-emotional learning initiative impacting schools, recreation centers, and the Boys and Girls Club. Her heart is in celebrating life, encouraging others, and inspiring growth. She strives to inspire everyone she meet to be better than they came, believing in the power of teaching, learning, and growth in every aspect of life.
Life has not always been easy, but her experiences have shaped her into a person dedicated to offering hope, understanding, and a safe space for people to be their authentic selves. She believes in thinking outside the box, being creative, and walking in her purpose everyday. Her mission is simple: to show up as herself and help others leave each interaction with a renewed sense of purpose, self, and inspiration.
